He spends his days breeding pigs and singing in the church choir but that doesn’t make him less lonely. When he finally tries to establish closer contact with a fellow girl Aija, his representations of masculinity take a weird turn.

A short film by Eeva Mägi is packed with absurdity and tells a rather conventional story in a rather unconventional way. The film reflects a court drama where a mother and a father, two ex-spouses, fight over the custody of their 5 year old son in court. The whole court process takes place in the middle of a grain field and on that field the courtroom has no boundaries much like the mother and father whose actual goal is to exact vengeance on each other with no regard to the means used.

In the near future, in a dystopian world, limousine driver Arthur transports various passengers around the center of Riga. His every move is watched by the limousine’s artificial intelligence, MO. The relationship between Arthur and MO is seemingly friendly and playful, but there is a feeling in the air that Arthur is careful not to provoke MO. However, the evening is intense and Arthur has several conflict situations with MO, so that night Arthur decides to use jokes to overwhelm the limousine’s artificial intelligence, so he can avoid activating the emotion control device.

It’s a story of two mothers who have to let go of each other in order to grow.
Aldona (45) is a single mother of a daughter (25) who soon will become a mother herself. Miglė, her daughter, comes to visit her on the seaside. Aldona tries to show care, but instead – starts controlling her. She wants to convince Miglė to move back to live with her – Aldona has even decorated the separate room for the baby – but instead, just pushes her away. During the night, the contractions start unexpectedly together with a new chapter – Aldona has to finally accept her solitude and let her daughter go in order to grow.

Hoping for a better future, Surya’s father Ram Kumar arranges her marriage to a wealthier man, however the groom demands a dowry, which is beyond the father’s financial reach. As he desperately tries to arrange for the dowry, Ram Kumar reaches a solution that forces Surya to turn the photo camera from a tool of self-expression into a weapon of self-defense.

In a hidden corner of the world, there is a place where all impossible dreams come true. In a rainforest, amidst lush nature fragile porcelain animals can be found. Strange white stony creatures are born in wild river streams, birds with feet like human fingers hunt for flying fish, vicious spiders catch miniature dancers into their traps…
This is a surreal world inhabited by creatures never seen before. Time here passes in a strange way moving in an unexpected paste. As the film is shot in nature the changes of light create a strange shift between the passing of time and the movement of the characters. Tropical nature, ceramic creatures, Estonian music and sounds of northern nature form a surreal world with a bizarre sensation of seeing something unknown but familiar at the same time.
