Baltic Shorts Residency

BALTIC SHORTS RESIDENCY is an initiative of Lithuanian Short Film Agency LITHUANIAN SHORTS that started in 2019. BALTIC SHORTS RESIDENCY is a three-week intensive short film script development residency program dedicated to filmmakers from Baltic countries who are willing to dive deep into the writing process along with professional consultations. Its purpose is to give 3 selected participants the opportunity to be mentored by the script consultant Anna Ciennik (intensive script workshop in a group, 2–3 individual online sessions during the residency and 1 follow-up consultation after the residency). After this residency program participant is committed to apply to Baltic Pitching Forum.

Eligible applicants – film directors and/or scriptwriters who are citizens of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania or have a right of a permanent residence in these mentioned countries. One applicant can submit more than one short film project.

Applicants must have finished at least one short film project (as a scriptwriter or a director) and must be developing a new project which is:
– fiction, animation, hybrid
– stand alone short film (not TV series)
– in the early script development stage (production is estimated not earlier than in 2024)
– up to 30 minutes
– aimed at international audience

The 5th edition of BALTIC SHORTS RESIDENCY will take place on 1-18 June 2023, in Kintai (Klaipėda region, Lithuania). 

The open call for BALTIC SHORTS RESIDENCY 2023 has ended. All applicants will be informed about selection results by email no later than 3 May.
