Riga International Film Festival Forum is looking for submissions to the Baltic Animation Meet-up and SHORT RIGA Test Screenings. Riga IFF will take place in Latvia on 15th – 25th October 2020.
Launched in 2016, the Forum is tailored to fit the needs of the film industry of the Nordic region. With a strong focus on creation of new cooperations and strengthening the existing ones, the festival’s industry section encompasses the fields of animation, short film and is paving the road for partnership between film and immersive media.
SHORT RIGA Test Screenings consists of a closed screening of short films by Baltic directors, after which an international panel of five experts provides feedback and recommendations for finishing the films, or suggestions on festival strategy.
The curators of SHORT RIGA Test Screenings select ten promising short-form works by directors either residing in or born in the Baltics (rough cut – up to 40 min; finished films – up to 30 min). Various techniques and genres are accepted. What remains unchanged is the basic principle: to gather representatives of notable film festivals and talent scouts. The screenings should serve as a springboard for getting the selected films into the festival circuit. Screenings will take place October 22 – 23, 2020.
Submission deadline: 21 August.
