An early summer evening begins with a game, while one kid counts to three thousand, the others hide in a row of suburban gardens. During that time, a young father spends the rest of his day with someone else’s child, an old man awaits a call that will change his life and the future of a year-long friendship becomes uncertain. The game ends when mosquitoes start rising from the grass.
David Gašo (Osijek, 2000) is a student of Film and TV Directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. He directed a number of short films, including the award-winning autobiographical hybrid Laci’s Great Escape (25 FPS – Green DCP award), fiction short Incendiary (ZFF 2021) and the documentary Thicket (ZagrebDox 2023). Short Cut Grass (ZFF 2023) premiered in competition at the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen. He is a member of the Croatian Film Directors’ Guild (DHFR) and the organizational and selection team of the festival Filmska RUNDA.

An emotionally estranged father and son do not know how to take care of the mother of the family who is sick and immobile, so they bring in a nurse, Sabina, who moves into the family home.
Paško Vukasović (Split, 1991) graduated in acting from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. He has appeared in more than 90 short and feature-length films and TV series, and in about 40 theatre plays. He has penned several dramas and directed four theatre plays. He has acted in numerous radio dramas and voiced characters in animated films. He heads and produces several cultural projects, and since 2021 is the artistic director of the Children’s Rights Festival.

Martina Marasović (Zagreb, 1993) is a director and screenwriter. She is currently finishing his graduate studies in Feature Film Direction. Her film My Nikola (ZFF 2022) premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
